Exercise might just kill me...

People, seriously...

26/365

Me. Today. Just less than an hour ago.

Why am I doubled over with my head between my knees? I refer you to #7 on my list.

I don't consider myself to be really "out of shape"... ok, let me rephrase that... I DIDN'T consider myself to be really "out of shape", but apparently I am.

Brandon and I decided that today was the day to begin our training for our 5k.

Until today I didn't realize how hard running a 5k was really going to be.

I'm in trouble.

Of course, I have 2 months to get ready. I can waste no more time!

I was proud of myself today... I completed 1 mile. I walked for 1/3 and ran for 2/3. That's a BIG deal for me. I am NOT a runner. Never have been. If I'm honest with myself, I probably won't ever run again after this 5k.

So, if training for it doesn't kill me... I'll be sure to post a picture of me being drug over the finish line on March 28th.

**But aren't my new running clothes spiffy? :)

I admire you greatly for even trying!

That's more than I can say.

Oh, you poor thing. You do look spiffy in your new running get-up but not so happy:(

My friend does the odd mini-marathon and I really like her method for "on the day". Once everyone has set their pace she picks someone who seems about her level but a bit better and matches their stride the whole way. She stays behind them and if they start to fade she lets them know what she's doing and that they will be letting her down as well as themselves. She has had to practically force one guy to cross the line ahead of her when he wanted to pull out just before they entered the stadium but she said it usually keeps both of them moving.

It depends on your personality, she can pull it off no worries, I would be worried about being involved in marathon-rage or something:) then again, I'm not likely to ever be in anything that could be called a marathon.

sorry about the long comment:)

When I saw your facebook status, I wondered if it would make it into a blog post :) At least if you kill over while training, you'll look cute in your running clothes.

Yep at least you can take comfort in the fact that you look good running even if you don't feel good! :-)
